Major IPS Reshuffle: 26 AGMUT Cadre Officers Transferred

Changes involve postings in key states like Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Arunachal etc

In a major reshuffle, the government on Friday ordered the transfer of 26 IPS officers belonging to the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory) cadre. The changes involve postings sweeping across Delhi, Lakshadweep, Jammu & Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and other union territories.

The list of Indian Police officers who were sent out on new postings is given below: 

  • B Shanker Jaiswal (IPS: 2001): Transferred from Delhi to Lakshadweep
  • Keshav Ram Chaurasia (IPS: 2003): From Delhi to Goa
  • Omvir Singh Bishnoi (IPS: 2004): From Goa to Delhi
  • Raj Kumar Singh (IPS: 2004): From Chandigarh to Delhi
  • Dheeraj Kumar (IPS: 2004): From Mizoram to Delhi
  • Pushpendra Kumar (IPS: 2006): From Delhi to Chandigarh
  • Umesh Kumar (IPS: 2009): From Jammu & Kashmir to Delhi
  • Ashok Malik (IPS: 2009): From Delhi to Mizoram
  • Sameer Sharma (IPS: 2011): From Lakshadweep to Jammu & Kashmir
  • Devesh Kumar Mahla (IPS: 2012): From Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh
  • Surendra Choudhary (IPS: 2013): From Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh
  • Apoorva Gupta (IPS: 2013): From Delhi to Andaman & Nicobar Islands
  • Sharad Bhaskar Darade (IPS: 2013): From Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi
  • A K Lal (IPS: 2013): From Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu to Puducherry

Officials said the mass transfers and repositioning of senior and mid-level police officers across union territories and states was done in order to bring fresh thinking and address gaps in those areas.
