Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle: Delhi Government Transfers 60 IAS, DANICS Officers

The move is part of a wider administrative reorganisation aimed at repositioning key officers across departments and district administrations in the National Capital

In a massive bureaucratic reshuffle, the Delhi government on Wednesday ordered transfers of 60 officers from the IAS and DANICS cadres, including Secretaries attached to four Ministers, with immediate effect.

According to orders issued by the Services Department of the NCT of Delhi, the exercise affects 17 IAS officers from the AGMUT cadre and 43 officers from the DANICS cadre.

Major Rejig

As part of the changes, the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Social Welfare Department has been assigned additional charge of the Women and Child Development Department.

Navin Chaudhary (AGMUT, 1994), currently ACS in the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, has been given additional charge of the General Administration Department (GAD) following the relieving of Pandurang Pole. Pole will now serve as Secretary (Land and Building) and will also hold an additional charge of the Labour and Cooperation departments.

Sandeep Kumar Singh (AGMUT, 2011), Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Managing Director of the Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation. Sachin Rana (AGMUT:2014), Special Secretary (Home), will additionally serve as Special Secretary (Urban Development) and Principal Director of Delhi Fire Services.

Santosh Kumar Rai has been appointed Special CEO of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and will continue to hold additional charge as Special Secretary (Home).

Among DANICS officers, Ankur Mehsram (2014), currently ADM (Outer North), has been appointed Secretary to Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Singh Indraj.

Vinay Kumar Jindal (2014), who was serving as Secretary to Law Minister Kapil Mishra, has been shifted as Director in the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). He will be replaced by Ranjeet Kumar Singh (2014), currently Joint Director (Education), as Mishra’s secretary.

Health Minister Pankaj Singh’s secretary, Vaibhav Rikhari (2013), has also been transferred and posted as Director in the Delhi Jal Board. Mukesh Rajora (2013), currently ADM (Headquarters), will take over as secretary to the minister, who also oversees the Transport and Information Technology portfolios.

Rajesh Chaudhary (2013), serving as Joint Secretary in the Urban Development Department, has been appointed Secretary to Industries and Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

District-Level Reshuffle

The reshuffle also includes changes in district-level administration. South West Delhi District Magistrate Mekala Chaitanya Prasad (AGMUT, 2015) has been posted as Special Secretary (Health), while K.K. Lakshman (AGMUT, 2017) has been transferred from the post of District Magistrate (Old Delhi) to District Magistrate (South West).

East Delhi District Magistrate Anmol Srivastava (AGMUT, 2018) has been appointed Special Commissioner (Transport).
