With Pankaj Joshi's appointment as the new Chief Secretary, 20 senior IAS officers of Gujarat have been transferred and/or promoted in a major shuffle. The most important name in this is Banchha Nidhi Pani who has become the Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad. While Vinod Rao, Milind Torawane , Anupam Anand and M Thennarasan have been promoted as Principal Secretaries. However, Vinod Rao has not been transferred but continues to serve in the Labour and Employment Department. M Thennarasan has been appointed the Secretary of the Youth and Sports Department. Currently, Ashwini Kumar had the additional charge of these departments.
