IPS Officer Datla Sreenivasa Varma Appointed Joint Director In CBI

Datla Sreenivasa Varma worked as Additional Director General in the Madhya Pradesh cadre and served in the state home department previously

The Centre has inducted another IPS officer into the Central Bureau of Investigation. Datla Sreenivasa Varma, a 1997-batch IPS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been made a Joint Director in the federal agency for five years.

Varma worked as the Additional Director General in the state cadre and served in the Madhya Pradesh home department previously.

A few days ago, the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi appointed Chhattisgarh cadre IPS officer Jitendra Singh Meena as the Deputy Inspector General in the CBI.

Apart from Meena, the Centre had also cleared the appointment of four Superintendents of Police at the federal agency.

The four appointments included IPS officers Vinayak Varma from Madhya Pradesh cadre, Achal Tyagi and Praveen Kumar Meena from Gujarat cadre and Gaurav Mittal, a revenue service officer from Customs and Indirect Tax cadre.

According to the personnel ministry orders, all the appointments were for five years.
