In A Major Reshuffle, Rajasthan Government Transfers 25 IAS Officers

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the BJP government in Rajasthan has transferred 25 IAS officers.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Akhil Arora, who is posted with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, was relieved of the charges of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). While ACS (Energy) Ajitabh Sharma was sent out of the Secretariat and made the chairperson of the Revenue Board, Ajmer, and the Rural Non-Farm Development Agency (RUDA).

ACS Aparna Arora was transferred from the social justice and empowerment department to the mines and petroleum department in the same position, and IAS Sreya Guha, who was ACS in charge of the rural development department, was also sent out of the Secretariat and made the director general of HCM RIPA and the managing director and chairperson of Rajasthan Financial Corporation.

Meanwhile, Alok Gupta, who was the chairperson of the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, was transferred to the urban development and housing department as an ACS, replacing Debashish Prusty, who will now take Gupta's position.

IAS Rajesh Kumar Yadav will now take charge of the school education and Sanskrit education department as the ACS, and ACS Dinesh Kumar will take charge of the social justice and empowerment department and child rights department, along with administrative reforms and coordination. IAS Arti Dogra, chairperson of Discoms and MD JVVNL, will also hold the charge of energy as the secretary. ACS PWD Praveen Gupta was relieved of the charge of the tourism, art and culture departments.

Meanwhile, in addition to transferring IAS officers, the Rajasthan government has also reassigned 9 IPS officers to strengthen law enforcement and administrative oversight in key districts.

Implications Of Transfers 

Sources stated that the administrative reshuffle is expected to strengthen governance, enhance operational efficiency, and align key officers with departments matching their expertise. Through this move, the state aims to ensure better coordination across departments, improve service delivery and align administrative and law enforcement leadership with ongoing development priorities.
