The Uttar Pradesh government transferred 40 Indian Administrative Service officers late last night.
The reshuffle includes the replacement of several District Magistrates, along with changes at the level of Chief Development Officers (CDOs), Joint Magistrates, and key departmental positions.
Sources stated that the move is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline governance and bring administrative efficiency at the district and departmental levels. District Magistrates and Chief Development Officers play a crucial role in implementing policies and development schemes. By rotating officers across districts and departments, the government aims to bring new perspectives and improve administrative outcomes.
Gaurang Rathi, who was posted as DM Unnao, has been shifted to Jhansi. Indrajeet Singh, Special Secretary (Energy), has been transferred as DM Sultanpur Kumar Harsh has been shifted from the District Magistrate of Sultanpur to the District Magistrate of Bulandshahr. While Annapurna Garg takes charge as DM Shravasti from her role as Special Secretary (Personnel). Alok Yadav has been appointed DM Shamli, replacing Arvind Kumar Chauhan, who is now posted to Saharanpur.
Nitin Goyal becomes DM Amroha, while Abhishek Goyal is posted as DM Hamirpur. Sarneet Kaur Broca has been assigned as DM Raebareli. Nidhi Gupta Vats moves to Fatehpur from Amroha, and Ghanshyam Meena shifts to Unnao from Hamirpur. Anjani Kumar Singh is now DM Lakhimpur Kheri, while Dr. Indramani Tripathi takes over Mainpuri. Brijesh Kumar has been appointed DM Auraiya. Manish Bansal has been transferred to Agra from Saharanpur, and Arvind Malappa Banari moves to the Chief Minister’s Office as Special Secretary.
Several senior-level administrative changes have been made across key departments. Durga Shakti Nagpal has been elevated from DM Lakhimpur Kheri to Divisional Commissioner of Devipatan Division, while Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil moves from that role to Principal Secretary handling Sugarcane, MSME, and Export Promotion.
Ravindra Singh has been shifted from DM Fatehpur to Special Secretary (Energy) and Director of UPNEDA. Mukul Chaudhary takes charge as Director of Tourism after serving as DM Jhansi, and Abhishek Kumar Pandey has been appointed Director of Social Welfare from his post as DM Shravasti. Harshita Mahesh moves from DM Raebareli to Director of Child Development and Nutrition.
Among other key changes, Kinjal Singh has been reassigned from Transport Commissioner to Secretary, Secondary Education, while Ashutosh Niranjan, an IDAS probationer, takes over as Transport Commissioner. Anita Verma Singh has been appointed Special Secretary in Food and Civil Supplies and will also serve as Registrar of the Board of Technical Education.
A key highlight of the reshuffle is the promotion of several Joint Magistrates to Chief Development Officer roles. Shruti Sharma has been appointed CDO Hapur from Deoria, while Gamini Singla moves from Sultanpur to CDO Badaun. Sunil Kumar Dhanvanta is posted as CDO Bahraich from Azamgarh, Pooja Sahu takes charge as CDO Amethi from Chitrakoot, and Rameshwar Sudhakar Sabnavis becomes CDO Jhansi from Ghazipur.
In related changes, Sachin Kumar Singh has been shifted from CDO Amethi to Additional Director in the Agriculture Marketing Board, while Basant Agrawal moves from ADM Hathras to Director of ESI Medical Services. Junaid Ahmad has been appointed Additional Labour Commissioner in Kanpur Nagar from his role as CDO Jhansi. Himanshu Gautam transitions from CDO Hapur to Vice Chairman of Jhansi Development Authority, and Mukesh Chandra moves from CDO Bahraich to VC of Hapur-Pilkhuwa Development Authority. Keshav Kumar has been reassigned from CDO Badaun to Registrar of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia University.
In the power sector, Nitish Kumar has been appointed Managing Director of UP Power Corporation Limited, moving from Dakshinanchal Vidyut, while Shruti, currently DM Bulandshahr, takes charge as Managing Director of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam in Agra.
While no major policy shift has been indicated, such reshuffles are a regular feature in Uttar Pradesh’s administrative framework to maintain governance efficiency and accountability.
