Successful candidates are recommended to various central services, including the IAS, Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service and other Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ central services.
A total of 1,009 candidates were recommended by the UPSC for various services after completion of 3-tier examination for the year 2024. The cadre allocation process follows specific guidelines laid out by the DoPT, considering candidates’ preferences, rank, and insider/outsider status. For example, while Shakti Dubey and Shah Margi Chirag remain in their home states, others like Harshita Goyal and Dongre Archit Parag are assigned to states different from their own. This process aims to promote fair distribution of officers across regions.
