In the first administrative reshuffle of the year in Haryana, the State government has transferred six IAS officers with immediate effect.

Major Reshuffle

In September 2025, the Haryana government issued an order to transfer 20 IAS officers and a Haryana Civil Services officer, in a major reshuffle.

Among those who had been reshuffled were Phool Chand Meena, Commissioner, Rohtak Division, who was transferred and posted as Commissioner and Secretary to the Haryana government.

Haryana IAS Cadre

The sanctioned strength of the Haryana IAS cadre is about 215 officers. This includes both direct recruits and officers promoted from the Haryana Civil Services.

However, the actual number of serving officers is usually lower due to factors such as retirement, deputation to the Centre, and delays in fresh allotments.

This gap between sanctioned and actual strength often leads to IAS officers in Haryana handling multiple departments simultaneously, pointing to a persistent cadre shortage despite the sanctioned strength.
