The Centre on Saturday promoted 2000-batch Haryana cadre IAS officer Nitin Kumar Yadav in-situ, from Joint Secretary to Additional Secretary, in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
He was brought to this department on central deputation in May last year.
In an order, the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) said, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved in-situ upgradation of Nitin Kumar Yadav, IAS (HY: 2000), Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India, as a measure personal to him by temporarily upgrading the post held by him.”
Yadav, who has 25 years of administrative experience, has held several high-level positions in his cadre state Haryana and in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. He was chief of the Home Department of Chandigarh, when he had taken several noteworthy measures related to the law and order, and traffic management, in the city.
In Haryana, Yadav spent most of his time in the General Administration Department, where he looked after matters related to personnel and vigilance.
Yadav holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT-Delhi and a PGDBM.
