Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while addressing the valedictory session of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC), said that during the two-day event, 1,212 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed across 12 sectors, through which various industrial groups committed to investments worth ₹3.24 lakh crore. The regional summit held in 2023 saw investment commitments worth ₹45,000 crore.

During the event, Gujarat Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai said that under the master plan prepared for Gujarat’s economic expansion, the state’s economy — currently valued at US$280 billion — is expected to grow to US$3.5 trillion, and added that this master plan envisions the creation of smart industrial parks in north Gujarat.

Ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) scheduled for January 2027, four regional conferences have been planned across the state, the first of which (VGRC) was held in Mehsana. The remaining conferences will be held respectively in Rajkot (Saurashtra–Kutch) in January, Surat (south Gujarat) in April, and Vadodara (central Gujarat) in June.

Principal Secretary of the Industries and Mines Department Mamta Verma said that the event was not limited to north Gujarat, and that it was significant for the overall development of the state. She said that industrialists and policymakers have given several valuable suggestions, and the conference — organised with four partner countries — aimed to provide local industries with access to global markets. North Gujarat, she noted, has achieved a balanced development between agriculture and industry.

Industries Commissioner P. Swaroop said that more than 3,000 industrialists participated in the first regional conference, and 19 MoUs were signed on the very first day itself. At the conference, representatives from 80 countries participated, with Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea as partner nations, and the Netherlands serving as the partner country for the agriculture seminar. Around 710 industries benefited from the exhibition section.

At the conference, Mahindra HZPC CEO Davinder Singh Dosanjh, Welspun Group CEO Kapil Maheshwari, and FICCI Gujarat’s Rajiv Gandhi delivered speeches.
