With an eye on both tradition and industry, the Gujarat government will host its maiden North Gujarat regional summit at Mandal-Becharaji Special Investment Region. The event, scheduled for October 9 and 10, is designed to bring investment beyond automobiles, already present in the area, and into agriculture and animal husbandry activities, which are at the heart of the region’s economy. Officials describe the summit as a key step in shaping priorities for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit (VGGIS) to be held in January 2027.

A senior official of the Industries department stated that ahead of the VGGIS, the state government is organising Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRCs) across four key zones of the state. These regional summits will help assess the types of industrial projects that can be established in different regions. Based on the review of all four VGRCs, specific sectors and investment areas will be identified for the 2027 global summit.

Mehsana Meet To Define State’s New Industrial Push

State Industries Minister Balvantsinh Rajput said that the North Gujarat summit will be held at Mandal-Becharaji SIR, Mehsana. This summit will focus on agriculture and food processing, automobiles andauto components, cotton, pharmaceuticals, engineering, green energy ecosystem, and tourism. Since regional summits are a vital part of the state’s industrial policy, they will help determine the scale, type of incentives, and tax-free zones to be offered to investors.

He added that the Industries department has named this summit the VGRC. In preparation, the Mandal-Becharaji Special Investment Region Development Authority (MBSIRDA) is fast-tracking developmental infrastructure projects. These ambitious projects will further strengthen the industrial landscape of North Gujarat, enhancing connectivity, capacity, and investment opportunities.
