At the annual meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced the state's commitment to providing green energy to the industrial sector. He revealed plans to develop an industrial estate exclusively powered by green energy and emphasised the government's support for the MSME sector in enhancing packaging standards.
Gujarat has already made strides in integrating green energy into agriculture, and now the state is taking steps to extend its benefits to industries. Patel stated that all industries within a designated industrial estate will be encouraged to transition to green energy, with a gradual expansion of green energy provisions across other industrial zones in the state.
Speaking at the CII annual meeting in Ahmedabad, themed 'Developed Gujarat: Powering a Prosperous India,' the Chief Minister highlighted that Gujarat is aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to boost green energy production and investment. He noted that 50 per cent of the industries that signed MoUs at the Vibrant Gujarat Investors Summit are engaged in the green energy sector.
Patel further announced that a specific industrial estate in the state will be fully dedicated to green energy. The government aims to ensure that industries across Gujarat progressively adopt green energy for production. Additionally, the Chief Minister expressed his commitment to assisting MSMEs in developing high-quality packaging solutions to compete in global markets.
Swati Sangalawalkar, Chairperson of CII Vision India@2047, emphasised the contributions of over 600 dedicated CII members in advancing Gujarat’s business and industrial development. She highlighted investment opportunities in key locations such as GIFT City, Dholera SIR, and PM Mitra Park, which continue to attract both domestic and international investors.

He acknowledged the government’s efforts in resolving industry-related challenges, contributing to significant industrial growth. Lalbhai also commended Gujarat’s Ease of Doing Business initiatives, emphasising that proactive government backing fosters rapid economic development.
Recognising Gujarat as a vital contributor to India’s economic strength, Lalbhai highlighted the state’s prominence in manufacturing, textiles, chemicals, engineering, pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy. He stressed the importance of collaboration among industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders in shaping Gujarat’s economic roadmap and strengthening India’s future prosperity.
