Gujarat Forms Task Force To Roll Out Administrative Reforms

Set up by the state Finance Department, the task force will act on the Gujarat Administrative Reforms Commission’s key suggestions to reform budgets, boost transparency, improve PSU efficiency, and optimise the use of govt funds

The Finance Department of the Gujarat government has constituted a task force to implement the recommendations and suggestions of the Gujarat Administrative Reforms Commission (GARC).

The task force has been set up with the primary objective of reviewing existing administrative practices, suggesting improvements, and facilitating the effective implementation of citizen-centric governance.

Members Of The Task Force:

  • R T Shah, former Director, Accounts and Treasuries, Gandhinagar
  • R H Dave, former Chief General Manager (Accounts), Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam
  • M V Patel, former Finance Controller, Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board

Key Responsibilities Of The Task Force:

  • To work on finance-related recommendations and suggestions presented in the report by GARC
  • To review the budget process and suggest reforms to make it more result-oriented and transparent
  • To recommend efficient allocation of resources and measures for optimal utilisation of public funds
  • To suggest reforms aimed at improving the efficiency and accountability of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in the state
  • To develop strategies for mobilising additional resources through new financial methods.

The task force is expected to complete the assigned work within the stipulated timeframe and submit its report to the competent authority. Terms and conditions for the task force members will be issued separately.

This resolution has been issued by Deputy Secretary of the Finance Department, Bhagvatsinh Gohil, in the name of, and under the orders of, the Governor of Gujarat. A copy of the resolution has been sent to the Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), Secretary (Administrative Reforms), Secretary (Expenditure), concerned confidential secretaries, and members of the task force.
