Gujarat, Five Principal Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretary

The Gujarat government has granted promotions to five senior IAS officers from the 1996 batch, elevating them from Principal Secretary to the Additional Chief Secretary rank. However, all five officers will continue in their existing postings.

The officers promoted are Mona Khandhar, currently serving in the Food and Civil Supplies Department; Dr. T. Natarajan in the Finance Department; Rajiv Topno in the Health and Family Welfare Department; Mamta Varma in the Industries and Mines Department; and Mukesh Kumar, who is posted in the Higher and Technical Education Department.

At a time when Gujarat is facing a shortage of IAS officers, the promotion of senior officers is expected to ensure continuity and stability in key administrative positions. Anju Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department, Gujarat Government, issued the promotion orders late last night.

Two Secretaries Promoted As Principal Secretaries

Two officers from the 2001 batch—Aarti Kanwar and Vijay Nehra—have been promoted as Principal Secretaries by the state government. Among them, Vijay Nehra is currently serving on deputation in Delhi.
