Gujarat Deploys Three IAS Officers Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

In wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan—sparked by India's recent missile strikes on terrorist camps across the border Gujarat has heightened its emergency preparedness. In response to the developing situation, the state government conducted a series of mock drills and even rescheduled its cabinet meeting to later in the evening for urgent discussions. Given Gujarat’s shared border with Pakistan in the Banaskantha and Kutch regions, the need for increased vigilance was emphasised. Consequently, three senior IAS officers—Ajay Prakash, Sujal Mayatra, and K. D. Lakhani—have been stationed at the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) in Gandhinagar.

These officers are now tasked with closely monitoring the situation and maintaining real-time communication with district collectors, disaster control officers (DCPOs), and police commissioners. Their responsibilities include ensuring a rapid response mechanism is in place for any unforeseen emergencies, and they serve as a coordination bridge between the state  government and local administrations. The deployment was executed immediately and will remain in effect until further government orders.
