Govt Appoints ILS Officer Rajiv Mani As Legislative Department Secretary

Rajiv Mani has been appointed for a period of two years from the day he assumes charge or until further orders whichever is earlier

The Centre has appointed Rajiv Mani, an Indian Legal Service (ILS) officer, as Secretary in the Legislative Department for a period of two years from the day he assumes charge or until further orders whichever is earlier. His appointment filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Rita Vashisht in September 2023, according to a Department of Personnel and Training order. After Vashisht’s retirement, S K G Rahate, Secretary in the Department of Justice, was holding the additional charge as Secretary in the Legislative Department. Additionally, the government has roped in a private person, Manoj Kumar, and appointed him to the post of Additional Secretary, Legislative Department, on a contract basis for two years. Kumar is the Founder & Managing Partner of Hammurabi & Soloman Partners.
