The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Saturday issued an order appointing and giving additional charge to senior officers of different services to key positions in the government.
Amit Yadav, a 1991-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Yadav is currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.
The additional responsibility to Yadav comes following the repatriation of the incumbent officer Rajesh Aggarwal to Maharashtra. The arrangement ensures continuity in administrative functioning within the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
The Indian Revenue Service officer of 2013 batch, Akash Jain, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in National Recruitment Agency at its headquarters in New Delhi. He was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue and will serve under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) for a period of four years.
As per the official order, Jain’s appointment will be governed by the Central Staffing Scheme and will remain effective from the date he assumes charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The NRA plays a crucial role in streamlining the recruitment process for central government positions by conducting the Common Eligibility Test (CET).
Another IRS officer of 2009-batch Mayank Prabha Tomar has been appointed as Director in the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), New Delhi. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue and will serve in the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders.
DARPG functions as the nodal agency for administrative reforms, grievance redressal mechanisms, and good governance practices across government institutions.
According to officials in the DoPT, these appointments are made as part the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and streamline governance at various levels.
