Former GPSC Chairman Dinesh Dasa Appointed UPSC Member

Dinesh Dasa served as the chairman of the Gujarat Public Service Commission between February 2016 and January 2022

Former chairman of the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) Dinesh Dasa was appointed a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Friday.

Dasa joined immediately and was administered the oath by UPSC Chairman Manoj Soni.

Dasa served as the GPSC chairman between February 2016 and January 2022. Under his leadership, the commission processed 827 advertisements without any controversy to recruit 26,116 officers.

Dasa was also the chairman of the standing committee of All India Public Service Commissions between December 2020 and January 2022. The standing committee is a nine-member panel constituted by the UPSC chairman at the national conference every year and it represents all 29 state Public Service Commissions (PSCs) to coordinate with UPSC on various issues.

Additionally, he was chairman, drafting committee, to prepare model syllabus and exam patterns for civil service exams across states.

The draft submitted by the committee was principally accepted by all 29 PSCs at the 20th national conference of chairpersons of all the state PSCs in Goa in January 2018.
