The government has cleared the proposal to empanel 2009-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Chinmay P Gotmare of Assam-Meghalaya cadre to hold the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent at the Centre.
In an order the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) said, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday cleared the empanelment of Chinmay P Gotmare (IAS: 2009: AM) for holding Joint Secretary or equivalent posts in the Government of India.”
Before being empanelled to the level of Joint Secretary, Gotmare was brought on central deputation on March 30, 2024. He was posted as the Director in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, for a period till April 2028.
Earlier in 2021, the DoPT had approved Gotmare's request for his inter-cadre deputation to Maharashtra in February 2021 for a period of three years on personal grounds.
Upon his deputation, Gotmare, who hails from Nagpur in Maharashtra, was given charge of the chief executive officer (CEO) of the district’s Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited.
Gotmare completed his entire education in Nagpur city.
