The Centre on Thursday appointed chiefs for three paramilitary forces namely: the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Into Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Central Industrial Police Force (CISF).
Accordingly, the current ITBP Director General Anish Dayal Singh has been moved to the CRPF as its new DG. He is a 1988 batch IPS officer. Singh will have a tenure of one year as the CRPF chief as he is set to retire on December 31, 2024.
In ITBP, the Centre has brought Rahul Rasgotra from the Intelligence Bureau. He is a 1989 batch IPS officer and currently serving as the Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau. He will remain ITBP chief till September 30, 2025, the date of his superannuation.
For the CISF, the government has elevated Nina Singh from Special DG to the post of the Director General. She is a Rajasthan cadre IPS officer of the 1989 batch. She will continue to helm the CISF till her retirement on July 31, 2024.
Moreover; the Centre has also moved out another Special Director of IB, Vivek Srivastava, a 1989 batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre, and appointed him as DG, Fire Service, Civil Defence and Home Guards.
