The Centre has carried out a large-scale reshuffle in the bureaucracy, impacting a substantial number of senior officers.
This comprehensive reorganisation includes over a dozen officers at the additional secretary level, as well as more than three dozen officers at the joint secretary level within the central administration.
This overhaul is the first extensive administrative change since the Lok Sabha elections two months ago. The initiative aims to bring fresh leadership and perspectives into key positions, ensuring effective governance and the smooth implementation of the government’s policies and programs.
Among the notable changes at the additional secretary level is the appointment of Ajay Bhadoo, a 1999-batch IAS officer from the Gujarat cadre, as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Ashutosh Agnihotri, a 1999-batch IAS officer, serving as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs, has been promoted to Additional Secretary in the same department.
At the Joint Secretary level, key changes include the appointment of Muktanand Agrawal, a 2008-batch IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre, as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
Purna Chandra Kishan, another IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre, has also been appointed as Joint Secretary in the same department.
Additionally, Aishvarya Singh, a 2008-batch IAS officer from the Sikkim cadre, has been named Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce. Pawan Kumar Sharma, a 1999-batch IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence.
Niraj Kumar Bansod, an IAS officer from Chhattisgarh, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
