Centre Names 5 New Joint Secretaries, Repatriates UT Cadre Officer For Key Posting

Union Territory cadre officer Atal Dulloo, serving as Secretary, Border Management in the Ministry of Home Affairs has been repatriated for appointment in an important position

The Government on Monday announced the appointments of five new joint secretaries, one new additional secretary and a director in a minor bureaucratic reshuffle across various departments of the Centre. It also repatriated a Union Territory cadre officer at the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Atal Dulloo, a 1989 batch IAS officer currently serving as Secretary, Border Management in MHA, has been repatriated at the ministry's request, said a notification by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet issued late Monday. Sources familiar with the development told The Secretariat that Dulloo is set to be posted in an important position of a union territory.

In a separate notification issued earlier in the day, the ACC cleared appointments of Aswani Srivastava, a 1998 batch Indian Railway Traffic Service officer, as Joint Secretary in the Department of Food & Public Distribution, Hara Prasad Nayak, a 1995 Indian Railway Accounts Service officer, as Joint Secretary and Financial Advisor of NATGRID and Palka Sahni, a 2004 batch lAS officer in Bihar Cadre, Joint Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals.

The notification also named Sandhya Bhullar, a 2003 batch lAS officer in the Gujarat Cadre as the new joint secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and Vinay Kumar, a 1999 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, as joint secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

Pankaj Hazarika, a 2000 batch of Indian Defence Accounts Service officer, is the additional secretary (JS level), in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which comes under the Department of Personnel & Training.

Raj Kumar Mishra, a 1999 batch Indian Postal Service officer, will assume the charge of Director of the National Water Informatics Centre(NWIC), which falls under the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
