Centre Empanels New Additional Secretaries

Most officers belong to the 2000 batch, including one from the Gujarat cadre and three from Maharashtra. Two officers each hail from the Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu cadres.

In an order, the Department of Personnel & Training said, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the empanelment of the 24 IAS officers for holding posts at the Centre at the level of Additional Secretary or Equivalent.”

Among the senior IAS officers empanelled as Additional Secretary (Equivalent) is 1997 batch Sonal Mishra of Gujarat cadre.

Two officers of the 1998 batch, Vishal Gangan of Odisha cadre and Manish Thakur of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, also find their names in the list. Gagan has been empanelled as Additional Secretary, whereas Thakur has been empanelled to the rank equivalent.

Additionally, six officers of the 1999 batch have been promoted to the rank of Additional Secretary or its equivalent. They are Puneet Yadav (West Bengal), Hirdesh Kumar (AGMUT), Navdeep Rinwa (Uttar Pradesh), Indra Mallo (Maharashtra), Arun Kumar Sinha (Manipur), and Shunchonngam J Chiru (Tamil Nadu).

The majority of the promoted officers (15) belong to the 2000 batch. Among them are Diwakar Nath Misra (Assam-Meghalaya), Suresh Kumar (Andhra Pradesh), Solomon Arokiaraj (Andhra Pradesh), Jitendra Srivastava (Bihar), N Saravana Kumar (Bihar), Anand Singh (Kerala), and P Hemalatha (Karnataka).

Others from the same batch include V Ponnuraj (Karnataka), Niranjan Kumar Sudhansu (Maharashtra), Piyush Singh (Maharashtra), Abhijit Sinha (Nagaland) Manju Rajpal (Rajasthan) D Anandan (Sikkim), Deepak Agarwal (Uttar Pradesh) and Manmeet Kaur Nanda (West Bengal).
