Centre Begins Appointment Of Private Secretaries To New Union Ministers

Private secretaries to four union ministers -- Nitin Gadkari, Manohar Lal Khattar, Giriraj Singh and Hardeep Singh Puri -- have been named

As the new ministers take charge of their respective portfolios in the new government, the Modi administration has begun the exercise of appointing their private secretaries.

New Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, Union Minister for Power and Urban affairs Manohar Lal Khattar, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari have been allotted their respective private secretaries on Thursday.

Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer of 2011 batch Vijay Datta has been assigned to Khattar; who joined the Modi cabinet for the first time after winning the Lok Sabha polls. For Gadkari who continues to hold the same portfolio for a third straight term, Deepak Shinde, a 2012 batch IAS of Union Territory cadre, has been named as his private secretary.

Bihar cadre IAS of 2009 batch Raman Kumar has been assigned to Giriraj Singh, while Puri will be assisted by Rasaal Dwivedi, Customs and Central Excise cadre officer of 2012 batch.
