Centre Appoints Two Additional Secretaries in PMO

Rajesh Aggarwal given additional charge as minority affairs secretary, while Ashish Vachhani (additional secretary - budget) and M S Srikar (additional secetary - cabinet secretariat) have been shited to PMO

The central government on Tuesday appointed senior bureaucrats Ashish Vachhani (IAS: 1997: TN) and M S Srikar (IAS: 1999: KN) as Additional Secretaries in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The appointments have been made by laterally shifting them within the central government and will remain effective up to the completion of their deputation tenures or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

Earlier in April, the Centre had brought Srikar from his cadre to replace Puneet Kansal (IAS: 1996: SK) in the Cabinet Secretariat. Vachhani, on the other hand, has been serving in the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) as Additional Secretary (Budget).

Sources indicate that Vachhani and Srikar have been appointed to the PMO following the elevation of Arvind Shrivastava (IAS: 1994: KN) and Hari Ranjan Rao (IAS: 1994: MP) as Revenue Secretary and Sports Secretary, respectively.
