Centre Appoints Heads Of Central Industrial Security Force & Border Security Force

The two new central armed police force chiefs will be leading their organisations for about a year to year and a half

The Central government on Friday announced appointments of Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Border Security Force (BSF).

Rajwinder Singh Bhati, a Bihar cadre 1990 batch IPS officer has been appointed as the DG of CISF. His appointment will be effective till his superannuation on September 30, 2025.

At the same time, Daljit Singh Chaudhary, another 1990 batch IPS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, was appointed as the chief of BSF, the country’s premier border protection agency. His appointment will be effective till November 30, 2025, the day of his superannuation.

Earlier this week B Srinivasan, Bihar cadre IPS from the 1992 batch was appointed as the DG of National Security Guard (NSG).

The three Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in the country, including the Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force and the National Security Guard, were functioning without regular chiefs for some time.

In two of the three CAPFs – the BSF and the NSG – the top positions were lying vacant due to a recent reshuffle of senior IPS officers by the government, and in the CISF due to superannuation.

The Secretariat had earlier reported that Bhatti was tipped for a top job in one of the Central Armed Police Forces.
