Centre Announces Key Bureaucratic Appointments

Abhishek Goyal becomes CISF IG, Viplav Choudhry becomes Special Director, ED and B V Jagdish becomes PS to Minister for Commerce & Industry

The central government on Tuesday issued a series of notifications announcing important bureaucratic appointments and recommendations.

Abhishek Goyal (IPS: 2005: Karnataka) has been appointed as Inspector General in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) until March 18, 2026, marking the remainder of his central deputation tenure.

Viplav Kumar Choudhry (IPS: 1997: AGMUT cadre) has been appointed as Special Director of Enforcement in the Directorate of Enforcement for a tenure of five years.

Baranwal Varunkumar Jagdish (IAS: 2014: Gujarat) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, until August 19, 2029. His earlier posting as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the same minister has been curtailed prematurely to facilitate this appointment.
