Centre Allocates IAS Rank To 20 Gujarat Civil Services Officers

The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) under the Government of India, in an order dated February 20, 2025 said, “In exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 8(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954 read with Regulation 9(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955 and Rule 3 of the Indian Administrative Service (Probation) Rules, 1954, the President is pleased to appoint the following members of the State Civil Service of Gujarat to the Indian Administrative Service”.

The DopT further said the order that the promotions have been accorded to the officers of the Gujarat Civil Services against the vacancies determined by Government of India under Regulation 5(1) in consultation with the State Government for the year-wise Select Lists of 2023 and 2024 on probation until further orders. 

All of them have been allocated the Gujarat Cadre, under Rule 5(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, it said. 

However, in the order, the DoPT has also mentioned that promotion and subsequent appointments of these officers of the State Civil Services to the IAS cadre is subject to the outcome of the different cases filed before the High Court of Gujarat.

As per the list of promotes, those who have been accorded the IAS cadre for vacancies in the year 2023 include H J Prajapati, CC Kotak, S J Joshi and V I Patel and all of them will retire from the service in different months of 2027, as all of them have 1967 as their year of birth.

K J Rathod is another officer, whose birth year is 1969, has also been promoted to IAS cadre for the vacancy year of 2023 and he will superannuate in the year 2029. 

Against the vacancies for the year 2024, 15 officers of the state civil services of Gujarat have been given the IAS cadre and they all have been born between 1968 and 1979 with they all be superannuating after reaching the age of 60 years. 

The list of officers promoted to IAS cadre against vacancies for the year 2024 include P A Ninama, K P Joshi, B M Patel, Kavita Rakesh Shah, B D Davera, A J Gamit, S K Patel, N F Chaudhari, H P Patel, J K Jadav, D K Brahmbhatt, M P Pandya, R V Vala and N D Parmar.
