Amit Khare To Take Over As Secretary To Vice President Radhakrishnan

Khare, a 1985-batch officer of the Jharkhand cadre, has also served as Adviser to the Prime Minister's Officer

Amit Khare takes over as Secretary to Vice President

Retired officer of the Indian Administrative Service, Amit Khare, will take over as Secretary to Vice President CP Radhakrishnan. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment on a "contract basis for a tenure of three years from the assumption of the charge of the post."

Khare, a 1985-batch officer of the Jharkhand cadre, has been one of the prominent faces in the bureaucracy circles. He has also served as Adviser to the Prime Minister's Officer handling key issues related to the social sector. Besides, he was also secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Education. 

Khare is known to be an able officer who has managed to resolve several issues.  

Last week, Radhakrishnan took over as Vice President of India following the sudden resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar.  

A graduate from Delhi's St. Stephen’s College and a post-graduate from IIM Ahmedabad, Khare held key positions in both Central and State Governments.
