In a surprise move, the Gujarat Home Department has transferred Ahmedabad Zone-1’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Balaram Meena. The 2012-batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre has now been appointed as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat.
Meanwhile, Koruconda Siddharth, a 2020-batch IPS officer who previously served as ADC to the Governor, has been posted as the Superintendent of Police (SP) at the Ahmedabad ATS. The transfer orders were issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) MK Das.
Amid ongoing law and order concerns in Ahmedabad, the city’s Police Commissioner has also initiated a large-scale reshuffle of personnel across various police stations. As part of the directive, Police Inspectors (PIs), along with their senior officers, have been instructed to dedicate two hours daily for public interaction at their respective stations.
