The 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) launched its official website, 8cpc.gov.in, to gather feedback from stakeholders by March 16, aiming for inclusive recommendations on pay and pensions. The implementation of the 8th CPC is expected to have a significant impact on millions of Central government employees, pensioners, and defence personnel.
Official sources said that stakeholders must monitor the official website, https://8cpc.gov.in/, for the activation of links and the announcement of the last date.
The Commission stated that the identities of respondents will remain confidential, and data will be analysed and disclosed only in aggregate, non-attributable form. The last date to submit responses to the questionnaire is March 16, 2026. The Commission will not accept paper-based memoranda, hard copies, or submissions via email.
Inputs are being collected through a structured questionnaire hosted on the MyGov portal. The move is aimed at gathering broad-based feedback before finalising recommendations.
“The 8th CPC solicits views/opinions/inputs. These inputs are being sought in a structured manner through a questionnaire, with 18 questions hosted on MyGov.in, the web portal. Responses are invited from Ministries, departments, state/UTs, employees of the government, employees of Union Territories, judicial officers, officers/employees of courts, members of regulatory bodies, associations or unions of serving or retired employees, pensioners, researchers, academicians, and individuals,” the Commission said in a statement.
As many as 69 lakh pensioners in the country are eagerly awaiting the 8th CPC’s recommendation.
The Commission has adopted a structured, digital-first approach to gather views and data from all stakeholders. On MyGov, the Commission has released a detailed questionnaire to seek broad opinions and structured feedback.
This will enable gathering views from a wide spectrum, including individuals, employees, pensioners, associations, researchers, and academicians.
Feedback can also be given on:

For authorised nodal officers of Ministries, departments, and UTs: https://www.mygov.in/mygov-survey/8th-central-pay-commission-questionnaire-ministries-departments-and-uts/
For official data submission from various government Ministries, departments, and organisations, it will collect extensive institutional data required for the Commission’s analysis. It has been stated that physical data, standalone Excel sheets, or emailed data dumps will not be entertained.
The website, developed and hosted by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), will be the only authentic source for updates from the Commission. Stakeholders have been advised to bookmark the site and check it regularly for announcements regarding memoranda submission links and deadlines, the Commission said.
The immediate priority for all stakeholders, especially employees' associations and individuals, is to respond to the MyGov questionnaire by the deadline of March 16, 2026. By adhering to the prescribed digital modes and deadlines, all the parties concerned can ensure their valuable inputs are effectively considered by the Commission, in its vital task of formulating recommendations that aim to ensure equity, fairness, and motivation in the public sector workforce.
The Union Cabinet had approved the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the much-anticipated 8th CPC on October 28, 2025. The Commission was formally constituted on November 3, 2025.
The 8th CPC is a temporary, high-level body tasked with making recommendations to the Central government on the remuneration structures for its workforce.
As per its mandate, the Commission is required to submit its final report within 18 months from the date of its constitution (November 3, 2025). This sets the expected submission window around early May 2027.
The recommendations are expected to impact around 50 lakh Central government employees and 69 lakh pensioners.
The pay commission is typically constituted once every 10 years to review and recommend changes in the salary structure, allowances, and pensions of government employees.
The 7th CPC was constituted in 2014, and its recommendations were implemented from 1 January 2016.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers threatened a one-day nationwide strike on 12th February 2026, citing delays in the implementation of the 8th CPC. The confederation has put forth a charter of demands to the Union government, suggesting modifications to the ToR of the 8th CPC.
