6 IAS Officers Transferred In Uttarakhand

The move is seen as the state government’s intent to strengthen governance

In a move to re-energise the state administration up to district level, the Uttarakhand government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in a late night decision on Saturday transferred six Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 26 Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers.

The move is seen as the state government’s intent to strengthen governance by bringing about administrative efficiency through infusing fresh talent in the system to carry out developmental initiatives, particularly at a time when the Char Dhaam Yatra commenced on Sunday.

The positions in the government architecture, which witnessed changes, include Additional District Magistrates (ADMs), City Magistrates, Deputy Collectors and officials serving in important commissions and state departments.

Among the IAS officers, who are relieved of their current responsibilities, include Anand Swaroop, officer of 2010-batch, who will no more be the Commissioner of Food, the charge of Additional Commissioner, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has been taken away from Ruchi Mohan, a officer of 2016-batch and Prakash Chandra has been removed from the post of Joint Chief Electoral Officer.

Meanwhile, promote IAS officer of 2022 selection year Banshi Lal Rana has been given the additional charge as Commissioner of Food, Gauri Prabha, a PCS officer has been transferred from Ranikhet to Pauri as Joint Magistrate and her service mate Dikshita Joshi has been shifted as Joint Magistrate from Pauri to Ranikhet.

Movements of other PCS officers include Nandan Singh Dungriyal, who has been appointed as the Secretary, UKSSSC, Shivkumar Baranwal appointed as Registrar, Uttarakhand Ayurveda University, Dehradun and Saurabh Aswal has been made ADM Nainital & Competent Authority for Land Acquisition.

Also among the PCS officers are Narendra Singh, who has been relieved as Registrar, Uttarakhand Ayurveda University, Shivkumar Baranwal has been shifted from the post of Secretary, UKSSSC to the Registrar, Ayurveda University. Prakash Chandra has been appointed as the Joint Chief Electoral Officer and Nandan Singh Dugariyal has been given charge as the Secretary, UKSSSC.

Other district level transfers include Awadhesh Kumar, who has been shifted from the post of the ADM Tehri to Joint Director, Urban Development, Dehradun, Shailendra Singh has been relieved as the ADM Nainital and posted as the ADM Tehri, Vaibhav Gupta has been shifted from his position in Urban Development Department to the ADM Haridwar, Saurabh Aswal, who has been serving as the Deputy Collector of Haridwar, has now been posted as the ADM Nainital & CALA and Manish Kumar has been relieved from the position of the Deputy Collector Haridwar.

The list of transfers and postings also include Santosh Kumar, who has been shifted from the post of the Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Dehradun to Deputy Secretary, Information Commission, Lakshmiraj Chauhan, the GM, GMVN Dehradun, has been posted as the Controller of Examinations, UKSSSC and Kushum Chauhan shifted from the post of the City Magistrate Haridwar to GM, GMVN Dehradun.

In the order the government also made several Deputy Collector-level transfers and they include Har Giri, who has been shifted from Dehradun to Haridwar, Anurag Arya from Champawat to Nainital, Ravindra Kumar Juwantha from Udham Singh Nagar to Dehradun, Sudhir Kumar from Administration Academy Nainital to Deputy Collector Nainital, Himanshu Kafaltia from UKSSSC to Deputy Collector Udham Singh Nagar, Prem Lal from Dehradun to Uttarkashi, Yashvir Singh from Pithoragarh to Chamoli, Mukesh Chandra Ramola from Uttarkashi to Dehradun, Vipin Chandra Pant from Nainital to Champawat, Sunil Kumar from Almora to Champawat, Pankaj Bhatt from Chamoli to Tehri, Alkesh Naudiyal from Tehri to Chamoli, Krishna Tripathi from Pauri to Rudraprayag and Ankit Raj from Tehri to Pithoragarh.
