The Maharashtra government has carried out a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring 25 senior IAS officers across key departments and districts in a move aimed at strengthening governance and administrative efficiency.
The order, issued on 2 April, makes several key appointments, including Kumar Ashirwad as Nagpur Collector, Kartikeyan S. as Solapur Collector.
According to the order, G. Sreekanth (IAS:RR: 2009), Municipal Commissioner, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Municipal Corporation, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, has been posted as Chief Executive Officer of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Navi Mumbai while Deelip Swami (IAS: SCS:2011) Collector, Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar took over as Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation in Akola.
Varsha Thakur-Ghuge (IAS: SCS:2011), Collector, Latur has been appointed Joint CEO of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) in Mumbai.
Deepak Singla (IAS: RR:2012), Additional Commissioner, PMRDA, Pune, has been named Commissioner of MGNREGS in Nagpur, while K. Manjulekshmi has been transferred to Pune as the Additional Municipal Commissioner of PMRDA. Rajendra Bharud (IAS: RR:2013), Project Director RUSA, Higher and Technical Education, Mumbai, will now serve as Municipal Commissioner of Kolhapur.
Several district-level changes were also announced as Pravinkumar Deore has been posted as Collector of Buldhana, while Bharat Bastewad will take over as Collector of Latur. Amol Yedge has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and Vijay Rathod will serve as Collector of Kolhapur.
Vinay Gowda GC has been posted as Collector of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, while Kiran Patil moves to Pune as Commissioner of Animal Husbandry. Mangesh Gondawale has been appointed Collector of Gondia.
Among other changes, Vasumana Pant will take over as Collector of Chandrapur, and Prajit Nair has been appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner in Pune. Ankit has been posted as Additional Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
At the grassroots level, several Zilla Parishad leadership roles have also been reshuffled. Minnu PM has been appointed CEO of Zilla Parishad Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, while Satyam Gandhi will serve as CEO of Zilla Parishad Amravati. Jasmine has been posted as CEO of Zilla Parishad Kolhapur, and Krishnakant Kanwaria will take over as CEO of Zilla Parishad Jalna.
Additionally, Sanjita Mohapatra has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Sangli Miraj Kupwad City Municipal Corporation, while Anjali Sharma will serve as Municipal Commissioner of Jalna Municipal Corporation.
These transfers are expected to ensure that senior leadership and field-level administration are adequately staffed, enhancing governance efficiency and administrative reach.
