The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has announced the cadre allocation of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers on the basis of Civil Service Examination (CSE) -2023.
Of total 180 IAS officers from the 2023 CSE-batch, 42 have been allocated home cadres. Among them exam topper Aditya Srivastava has been allotted his home cadre, Uttar Pradesh.
The state of Gujarat has been allocated seven officers from the batch.
Among the newly selected officers, who have been allocated Gujarat cadre include 33rd rank Ritika Aima from Uttarakhand, 43rd rank Thakur Anjali Ajay from Bihar, 67th rank Atul Singh from Jharkhand, 249th rank Tale Abhishek Pramod from Maharashtra, 250th rank Dharani M from Tamil Nadu and 310th rank Kamble Varushali Santram from Maharashtra.
The allocation of the cadres to these newly selected officers marks a significant step in their career, as they will soon begin their service in various administrative roles across the country.
It is to be noted here that the final results of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023 was declared on April 16, 2024, with 1,016 candidates recommended for 1,143 vacancies across various civil services. Additionally, a reserve list, containing 120 additional candidates, was released on October 25, 2024. All these officers have been selected for key services including the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS), Indian Foreign Services (IFS), and other Group-A & B central services.
According to officials in the DoPT, all these officers will be posted in their respective cadre after completing the first phase of training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie and accordingly the list of officers with their respective cadres has been shared with the states and the academy.
The list, which was released by the DoPT on November 28, has outlined the state cadres assigned to the newly selected IAS officers, and the respective state governments have been asked to proceed now with their postings.
The second-ranked candidate, Animesh Pradhan, a native of Odisha, has also been assigned to his home cadre, while the third-ranked Donuru Ananya Reddy from Telangana has been allotted the Maharashtra cadre.
