The Union Government on November 23, 2024, issued an order appointing senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Raja Srivastava as the Additional Director General (ADG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The 1994-batch IPS officer Srivastava is currently posted in his home cadre of Uttar Pradesh. The cadre controlling authority, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has issued the order confirming his appointment.
In the order, which is addressed to the Chief Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh government, a copy of which is with The Secretariat, MHA Under Secretary Sanjeev Kumar said, “I am directed to convey the approval of the competent authority for appointment of Raja Srivastava, IPS (UP:1994) as Additional Director General (Level-15 of pay matrix) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) against existing vacancy on usual terms and conditions of IPS Tenure Policy.”
Kumar, in the order, further said, “It is therefore requested that Raja Srivastava may be relieved immediately to enable him to join his new appointment at the Centre.”
On Tuesday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) cleared the empanelment of over 39 IPS officers for holding Additional Director General (ADG) or ADG Equivalent posts at the Centre.
Notably, in December last year, the ACC cleared Raja Srivastava's name along with 39 other IPS officers for empanelment to hold Additional Director General (ADG) or ADG Equivalent posts at the Centre.
