New Delhi: The Centre Friday late evening issued a notification appointing as many as 16 joint secretary level officials in the central administration.
However, the interesting part is that out of 16, only three officers is from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) while rest are from other all India services like Indian Forest Service, Indian Postal Service, Indian Revenue Service of Income Tax cadre as well as Customs and Central Excise cadre.
The IAS officers named in the list are: Yogita Rana from Telangana cadre from 2003 batch and Chauhan Sarita Chand from Union Territory cadre from 1999 and Balamurugan D, a Bihar cadre officer of 2005 batch.
Ms Yogita has been posted as Joint Secretary in the department of agriculture and farmers welfare in the ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare while Ms Chauhan as joint secretary in the department of animal husbandry and dairying.
Mr Balamurugan has been posted as Joint Secretary in the department of promotion of industry and internal trade in the ministry of commerce and industries.
An IRS officer Rahul Ramesh Nangare has been appointed as the Custodian of Enemy Property for India, which functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Three forest service officers: Ms Anita Karn from Gujarat, Naveen Kumar Shah from Union Territory and Praveen Bonigala from Rajasthan have also been brought in the central administration on deputation.
Ms Anita has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the department of food and public distribution, Praveen Bonigala as Joint Secretary NATGRID, a technical arm of the MHA and Mr Shah as CMD of National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation.
